The Stockton Globe was Highly Commended for Building Project of the Year at the CENE (Constructing Excellence in the North East) awards on Friday 8th October 2021.
SPACE have a proud history of restoring historical buildings and Stockton Globe is no different. Working alongside Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, SPACE oversaw the £30m major restoration project that had taken 10 years to come to fruition since it was first proposed. The historic and renowned venue reopened for business this year after being developed into a building fit for the 21st Century having originally closed its doors in 1997.
It comprises of The Globe – a 3,000-capacity entertainment venue, The Link – a new build entertainment, cultural, social and hospitality venue, and The Annex – a new build facility that provides state-of-the-art technical support and back-of-house facilities.
The CENE are recognised across the North East built environment as the biggest and brightest celebration of best practice and SPACE are proud to have been a part of the project.
