In September, Chris Holmes was appointed as Associate Director and welcomed into the Space Architects team.

Chris has been a qualified architect for 17 years and has worked across a variety of different sectors including; education, commercial, leisure, industrial and R&D. Prior to joining Space Architects, Chris was the Project Design Lead on the redevelopment of the Grade 2 listed, Spanish City in Whitley Bay. 

As Associate Director, Chris will advise on architectural design within the practice, with a particular emphasis and interest in heritage redevelopment. In time he has plans to become a registered RIBA Conservation Architect. 

In his spare time, he enjoys playing badminton and has recently taken up both running and cycling again. Chris loves the outdoors and can often be found walking in rural areas like the Lake District or the Northumberland Coast with his family. 

On joining the Space Architects team Chris said,

 “The opportunities that were available at Space Architects, as well as the team ethos, were both major factors for me choosing the practice”.  

“I am really excited for my future with Space Architects and am looking forward to being involved on some great projects”.

Chris’ years of experience will help strengthen the Space Architects team moving forward.
