As a young boy, Grant’s favourite toy was Meccano and as he got older, he’d often be found shadowing his dad, a joiner, watching him building things. It seemed a natural progression for Grant to gravitate into a career with a technical and engineering focus.
Back in 2007 on his first day with Space, Grant arrived at Spaceworks reception, where he was greeted by Rob and the full team, who were tucking into breakfast sandwiches. He soon realised that whilst we’re a welcoming bunch, this was one of Space’s regular team get-togethers – something he fitted into very quickly, being such a sociable fellow.
Away from work, Grant likes keeping fit and is a keen gym-goer. He enjoys cycling too and particularly the feeling of freedom it brings. Family time is important to Grant and he’s often engaged as ‘Dad’s Taxi’ taking his boys to various after-school sports and activities. During the travel restrictions imposed through the pandemic, he made the most of the outdoors and local coastline, taking up new pursuits with his family – like bodyboarding and camping. Grant’s ultimate goal would be to travel the world and immerse himself in different cultures.
