Get to know; Andrew Bumfrey

Meticulous. ‘Canny Lad’ and Whisky Connoisseur.

Andrew leads on commercial contracts and legal reviews across the businesses and is an incredibly trusted pair of hands.  His broad architectural and project procurement knowledge and keen eye for detail helps him excel in these fields. Budding part III Architects do tend to ask him a lot of tricky questions!

To help clear his head, Andrew enjoys swimming, cycling and walking and recently completed an impressive ‘Million Steps’ challenge. He likes films (not movies) and is a pretty good baker too, enjoying whipping up the odd birthday cake or two for family members. He’s quick to add that, unlike many colleagues, he is definitely not a petrol head.

In the office, you’ll often see Andrew sipping a cuppa from his ‘Canny Lad’ mug and grazing on his favourite chocolate bar – a Kit-Kat Chunky. The mug was a prize that Andrew proudly scooped for winning the ‘Geordiest Person’ title in the Geordie quiz we held during one of our many virtual Space get-togethers over lockdown.

Away from the office, Andrew is most likely to swap his cuppa for a nice Speyside malt whisky (neat or even - sacrilege maybe - with mixers or ‘on the rocks’) although he still might pair that with a Kit-Kat Chunky!
