A stunning new flagship headquarters for Durham University, the Palatine Centre is a single destination for all student facing services, professional services and the University executive replacing several disparate facilities throughout the City that were not fit for purpose. The bold concept complements the World Heritage Site setting, defining a new public realm on the Lower Mountjoy campus. It also houses the School of Law including a Harvard style lecture theatre, moot court and other centrally bookable, audio visually enabled seminar study space. A dramatic three storey linear atrium links all levels. Eco-friendly materials include a green roof, cedar shingles and timber boarding, combined to create a unique and distinctive character.
